Favorite ESO soloist

Dale Clevenger

Why I like playing with the ESO

Playing for 30+ years with my section partners Rick Greene and Mike Papierniak. It's like my own personal Master Class every week with these guys.

Favorite composer or piece

Elgar — Nimrod (from Enigma Variations)

When I’m not playing with the ESO, I’m…

I'm traveling with my husband of 36 years to visit our musician son Jim in New York and our other son Jordan in San Francisco, who recently got married!

Something most people don’t know about me

As a youngster I was a gymnast in the Junior Olympics, and I played a pops concert in college led by Arthur Fiedler, with Benny Goodman as soloist.
