Most memorable performance with the ESO

Our May 2012 concert. This was the last time I had the privilege to play with my friend and longtime ESO principal trombone, Rick Wunder. He was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer just five months prior to the concert but was determined to finish the season. He played a great concert and not just “under the circumstances.”

Michael Mulcahy…Charlie Vernon…Jay Friedman…Christian Lindberg…no wait, we haven’t had a featured trombone soloist since I have been with the orchestra.

Why I like playing with the ESO

Each season brings new challenges to perform at a high level before a very knowledgeable and appreciative crowd in a great hall.

Favorite composer or piece

Anyone Russian, or even Slavic for that matter (didn’t Mahler have a distant relative from St. Petersburg?).
